5.2.1. Standards

5.2.2. Design of gauges

   Gauge No. 1                   Taper full form threaded plug gauge.
                                 This gauge is a 1:16 taper full form threaded plug gauge and is suitable
                       L         fo r checking the m ajor diam eter (D) and pitch diam eter (D2) at the
                                 gauge plane of internal parallel (Rp) threads and internal taper
                                 (Rc) threads.

   Gauge No. 2                   Taper full form threaded plug gauge with relief.

                              —  This gauge is a 1:16 taper full form threaded plug gauge with relief o f
                                 threads and is suitable for checking the major diam eter (D) and pitch
                             E   diam eter (D2) at the gauge plane, and the accom odation *lenght o f
                                 inernal parallel (Rp) threads and internal taper (Rc) threads.

          Gauge No. 3    «V      1Accomodation lenght: distance from the face o f an internally threaded workpiece

                                 This gauge is parallel full form threaded ring gauge and is suitable

                                 Taper plane ring gauge.
                                 This gauge is a 1:16 taper plain ring gauge and is suitable fo r checking
                                 the m ajor diameter (d) and the related useful thread lenght on
                                 taper external (R) threads.

                                 Taper modified thread form check plug gauge

                                 This check plug gauge is used to check the dim ensions o f the parallel
                                  threaded ring gauge (gauge No. 3) when manufacturing the ring gauge
                                  and for checking the ring gauge for wear.
